Teachers association promises not to stall school year

The Secondary School Teachers Association (SSTO) announced on Thursday that it would adhere to a National Labor Court order barring it from holding a strike at the beginning of the school year on September 2. According to Army Radio, the National Teachers Union said it would not disrupt secondary school activities. Until now, it was unclear whether the association would honor the court decision after association chairman, Ran Erez, threatened last week to hold the strike regardless of an imminent court order. On Monday, the court ruled that the SSTO, which had threatened to launch a strike at the start of the year, could strike on September 5 instead.
