Trains to shut down Friday due to worker strike

All trains will shut down on Friday as Israel Railways employees hold a country-wide strike, it was reported on Thursay. The strike was called when talks between the company and its workers over the planned privatization of the railway and agreements it was said to have breached failed to make any progress. Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz called on the workers not to go through with the strike. "All areas of the disagreement can be solved by discussion," he said. Meanwhile, Egged will be increasing bus service to the areas usually serviced by the trains to help soldiers who usually take the train to get home.
