Underworld bomb builder sentenced to 12 years

Tel Aviv District Court on Thursday sentenced Jaffa underworld figure Yihye Turq to 12 years in jail for manufacturing and possessing weapons and explosive devices after acquitting him of the killing of a three-year-old boy in a booby-trapped car. The incident occurred on April 27, when a bomb exploded in the car of Asher Ilouz, seriously wounding him and killing his son, Aviv. Two other men were also charged with the bombing, Haim Ben-Yishai and Yishai Glikarov. Ben-Yishai was convicted of being an accessory to murder in a plea bargain agreement three month's ago. Glikarov is still on trial. The state accused Turq of making the explosive device used in the attack, which was aimed at the boy's father.
