US warns its citizens in Israel of terror attacks

The US State Department has issued a travel advisory warning US citizens and representatives in Israel of possible terror attacks, Army Radio reported. The advisory, which was issued Saturday, calls on all diplomats and tourists in Gaza to leave without delay and to refrain from entering the West Bank. The advisory was issued following reports of plots to carry out suicide attacks in American buildings as well as in restaurants and businesses with American links. In addition, the State Department requested that US citizens apply special caution when in the vicinity of the US embassy. A special warning was issued for visitors to Jerusalem. The warning cites "the general security atmosphere in Israel, Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and repeated threats to American citizens and sites," and adds that "the US government has received information showing that American interests may be the targets of terror attacks."
