Young man survives five-story fall from roof without broken bones

An 18-year-old Kiryat Ekron man fell off a five-story building while tarring the roof but "miraculously" survived with such little injury that he recovered consciousness and was stable at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot 20 hours after the accident. Benny Daniel, who is about to go into the IDF, slipped from the roof of his own home and found himself in the intensive care unit. Dr. Gennady Bergman, a specialist in the unit, said the case was a "miracle," as Daniel suffered no fractures in his skull, hips, spine or ribs - which are the usual results of such a fall. "I want to be a combat soldier," he told doctors and thanked them. "What is certain that next winter, I will hire somebody else to tar the roof."
