A spate of thefts from patients at Rambam hospital led police and hospital security staff to set up an "operation" of their own, reports Yediot Haifa. Detectives and security guards kept a covert watch on visitors to the hospital, and readied themselves to swoop after they saw two men break into a car in the hospital car park and steal a bag from it last week.
They caught the pair as they were heading toward the emergency room, from where they were apparently planning to steal more bags from patients or their relatives. The "operation" was pronounced asuccess.
