If you happen to have passed Tel Aviv's city hall in recent days and thought you were seeing things, you may be excused. A giant duck has indeed been placed on the building's roof, and will remain there until it moves to a permanent home at the Museum for Caricatures and Cartoons in Holon, reports Yediot Tel Aviv.
According to the report, the idea for placing the 10-meter-high duck on city hall came from the family of the late cartoonist Dudu Geva, who passed away of a heart attack three years ago at the age of 55.
The duck was Geva's iconic symbol, and his family sought to have him memorialized by placing a giant version on top of city hall. Municipal officials reportedly thought the idea was utterly bird-brained and refused, but recently relented. The duck will remain on the building until its new nest is ready in Holon.
