Hod Hasharon approves extraordinary funding

The city council has authorized an NIS 1.1 million extraordinary budget for the long-awaited completion of a mikve for women.

The Hod Hasharon city council has authorized an NIS 1.1 million extraordinary budget for the long-awaited completion of a mikve for women in the Neveh Ne'eman neighborhood, reports www.local.co.il. The budget, most of which will come from the Religious Services Ministry, will enable the city to finish building the mikve 12 years after the project first began. According to the report, the incomplete mikve project was abandoned 12 years ago for unstated reasons, but the council has now decided to allocate NIS 1.1m. to it, saying that this sum will enable the city to build a "luxurious complex" for women from the neighborhood and from around Hod Hasharon. Some NIS 972,000 will be funded by the ministry, while the city will supply NIS 128,000. The council also approved an extraordinary budget of NIS 200,000 to build a fence down Rehov Jabotinsky, opposite the Hadarim High School, to prevent people from crossing the road at dangerous sections. Some NIS 140,000 of that sum will be funded by the Transportation Ministry, with the remainder to come from the city.
