Ramat Hasharon - suspect ordered to keep away from mayor

The Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court has ordered a Likud party activist to stay away from the Ramat Hasharon City Hall building and from Mayor Itzik Rochberger until after the elections, reports www.mynet.co.il. The court ordered Rami Gabai, 44, of Ramat Hasharon, to keep away following allegations that he ordered the vandalism of Rochberger's campaign posters and confronted the mayor personally. According to the report, police called Gabai in for questioning on suspicion that he paid two youngsters to damage Rochberger's posters. But before he went to the police to answer their questions, Gabai reportedly went to the mayor's office and demanded that he cancel the complaint because it would make it difficult for him to find a job in the future. Gabai then went to the police for questioning, and was arrested and brought before a judge, who ordered that he stay away from City Hall and from the mayor until after the elections.
