2 US soldiers killed in fighting west of Baghdad

Two US soldiers were killed in fighting in the volatile Anbar province, the military said Saturday, raising to 10 the number of American troops killed so far this month. The soldiers assigned to Multi-National Force - West died Friday from wounds sustained due to enemy action in the province, a vast insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad, according to a statement. The soldiers' names were withheld pending notification of relatives. The deaths raise to at least 3,094 members of the US military who have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
