Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas told the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram that prior to the Mecca Accords, Hamas had planned to assassinate him.
Army Radio reported that Abbas said he had no intention of negotiating with Hamas until the situation in the Gaza Strip returned to normal.
