Abbas stresses need for more active US role in putting pressure on Israel

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday emphasized the need for a more active US role in putting pressure on Israel.
Abbas made the comments during a meeting in Riyadh with Saudi King Abdullah, Palestinian ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jamal Shobaki said.
Shobaki also quoted Abbas as saying that there would be important moves in the next stage of the Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations.
