Advisor claims poison poured into Arafat's ear

Former advisor to the late PA chairman Yasser Arafat and Palestinian cabinet secretary, Ahmed Abdel Rahman, claimed Wednesday that Arafat had been poisoned by toxins poured into his ear over a year before his death. Speaking to London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al-Quds al-Arabi, Abdel Rahman claimed that within two weeks of being poisoned, Arafat lost 13 kilograms from his body weight. After that the poison worked slowly until it finally killed him last November, he said. Arafat's doctors never succeed in diagnosing the chairman's illness, he noted. Abdel Rahman now serves as advisor to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
