The IDF raided several command outposts in Syria on the slopes of the Mount Hermon Summit on Wednesday, from Bashar al-Assad's former Syrian government.

More than 300 weapons were located and confiscated by Israeli troops.

Those in the area suspected of being involved in the smuggling and trade of weapons from Syria to its neighboring country, Lebanon, were detained and questioned by the IDF.

The operation was conducted by the IDF's 810th Brigade under the 210th Division.

The brigade had previously raided other Assad-era command posts last month in order to prevent attempts to smuggle weapons.

The command posts raided in July were used to oversee the Syria-Lebanon border during Assad’s regime.

Four IDF soldiers wounded same day as operation

The operation came the same day that four Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded in an explosion in southern Syria, the IDF said.

The unit caught in the explosion identified a hand grenade lying in the area it was scanning, and it exploded while in the unit's possession.

An Israel Air Force helicopter evacuated the wounded to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, and they were later released.
