Bomb kills US soldier on foot patrol in Baghdad, military says

A US soldier was killed by a bomb during a foot patrol near a predominantly Shiite neighborhood in Baghdad, the military said Sunday. The Multi-National Division - Baghdad soldier died Saturday while conducting a dismounted patrol near the Kazimiyah area in northern Baghdad, according to a statement. The soldier's identity was not released pending notification of relatives. The death toll of US military personnel has reached at least 3,933 since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
