Car bomb strikes a market in Baghdad, killing 11 people

Iraqi officials say at least 11 people have been killed and 35 wounded in a car bombing in Baghdad. Police and hospital officials say a parked car bomb exploded near a market in a mainly Shiite area in northern Baghdad. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the press. Tuesday's attack occurred just before 6 p.m. as the market was packed with shoppers preparing for their evening meal. It's the deadliest car bombing in weeks as the capital has been relatively calm amid stepped up security measures.
