Egypt arrests 9 journalists in city where economic riots erupted

Security officials say at least nine Egyptian photojournalists and cameramen have been detained in a northern city where economic riots erupted earlier this week.
Amnesty International said Friday it was disturbed by the killings of two Egyptians during the rioting in Mahalla el-Kobra and the arrests of pro-democracy activists in the aftermath of the unrest sparked by rising food prices.
The journalists arrested were apparently in Mahalla to cover a visit by a group of professors and activists who came to express solidarity with residents.
