Fatah chairman removes Abbas's picture at a rally

Tensions in the Fatah ran high on Monday after the movement's chairman, Faruq Kaddoumi, removed a poster of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, which was hanging behind him during a rally at the Yarmouk refugee camp near Damascus. He explained that only those who have sacrificed themselves for the Palestinian struggle should be displayed in that way. According to Israel Radio, top Fatah figures demanded revoking Kaddoumi's privileges in the movement.
