Top officials of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party gathered Saturday to discuss the movement's defeat in Palestinian legislative elections and to decide whether to join a new government led by Hamas.
Saturday night's meeting opened three days of talks by the Fatah Revolutionary Council, a 123-member body that sets party policies. The council was expected to reject an alliance with Hamas, though a formal decision is unlikely before the end of the gathering.
