Haniyeh announces cease-fire deal reached in Gaza

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh announced on Tuesday night that a new cease-fire deal had been reached between the rival Fatah and Hamas factions. The truce, which came after 15 Palestinians were killed and 70 wounded in clashes between the two groups, began at 2 a.m. All gunmen were ordered to leave the streets in the Gaza Strip, and all Palestinian abductees were to be released. This was the third such truce reached in the past few days; however, the previous two only lasted a matter of hours.
