Hizbullah protests against gov't block Lebanese roads

Hizbullah-led opposition protesters burnt tires and blocked streets in central Beirut and on the road to the airport to enforce an anti-government labor strike.
Wednesday's labor strike was called to demand pay raises, but it has turned into a confrontation between the militant group Hizbullah that has the backing of Iran and Syria, and the Western-backed government.
Young opposition activists piled tires on some major highways in opposition-controlled areas of the city and its southern suburbs to set it afire early morning.
Trucks brought in dirt and dumped in on the major highway to Beirut international airport to block access. Labor unions at the country's only air facility are taking part in the one-day strike.
