<i>Al Hayat</i>: 'Obama's advisers met with Hamas prior to US elections'

Hamas political adviser Ahmad Yousef revealed Tuesday morning that prior to the US general elections, a secret meeting was held with President-elect Barack Obama's advisers in the Gaza Strip. "We are maintaining contact with the them", said Yousef who revealed no further information.
In an interview with the London-based Al Hayat, Yousef reportedly told the paper that contact between Hamas and Obama's advisers was first established over the internet.
The office of the President-elect could not be reached for comment on this report due to the time difference between Israel and the US.
