Iraq says it executed 14 convicted terrorists

The Iraqi government said 14 convicted "terrorists" were executed Sunday for murder, kidnappings and rape in five of Iraq's 18 provinces. The statement did not say when or where the suspects were convicted. It also did not specify the method of execution, although hanging is the method used in Iraq for civilians sentenced to death. The fourteen were involved in murder, kidnappings and rape in the provinces of Karbala, Basra, Wasit and Diwaniyah, all south of Baghdad, and Kirkuk in northern Iraq, according to the statement.
