Jordan only sends low-level delegation to Arab summit in Syria

Jordan announces it is sending its Arab League representative, not the King, to head the Jordanian delegation to the Arab summit this weekend in Syria. Heads of states or of government are usually meant to attend in person the yearly Arab League summit, being held this weekend in Damascus. The low-level delegation headed by representative Omar Rifai, rather than Jordan's King Abdallah II, appears to be another snub to Syria, with has irked several pro-US Arab nations. Egypt and Saudi Arabia have also announced they are sending low-level delegates, and Lebanon is boycotting the summit altogether.
