Kuwait's ruler, Sheik Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, has dissloved parliament and called for new elections next month, state-run Kuwait Television reported Sunday.
State television did not elaborate, but said the elections have been set for June 29.
The move follows a crisis over electoral reform, and pre-empts the questioning by lawmakers of the prime minister in parliament on the issue.
