Report: Hamas to turn down Egyptian cease-fire proposal

The Hamas delegation scheduled to return to Cairo on Monday will relay the terror group's final decision regarding the Egyptian proposal for a cease-fire with Israel, which will be to turn down the offer, Army Radio reported on Monday morning. Hamas sources were quoted by the London-based Arab daily al-Hayat as saying that the organization has many reservations regarding the proposal, and that the clauses on IDF withdrawal from Gaza and the operation of the border crossings were not clear enough. However, on Sunday night, the official Egyptian new agency reportedly said that there had been substantial progress in the talks with Hamas, and quoted Omar Suleimen, a senior Egyptian official, as saying that Hamas "agrees it is necessary to stop the fighting as soon as possible."
