Report: UAE arrests central suspect in Hariri assassination
The United Arab Emirates authorities have arrested a central suspect in the investigation into the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri, Reuters reported on Sunday.
The news agency cited a report by the UAE-based Al Arabiya television channel according to which
former Syrian intelligence officer Mohammed Zuhair al-Siddiq was arrested in the emirate of Sharjah and was being held by UAE security authorities.
Hariri and 22 other people were killed in a car bomb blast in Beirut on February 14, 2005 that sparked an international outcry.
