Two US F-18s crash in Persian Gulf, no fatalities reported

Two US military F-18 jets crashed Monday in the Persian Gulf, but the three aviators on board ejected safely out of the aircraft, the US Navy's 5th Fleet said. The two F-18 Super Hornets were providing en route close air support from Iraq when they crashed, the 5th Fleet said in a written statement. Teams from the USS Harry S. Truman rescued the aviators, who ejected from the jets, and were reported in good condition, the 5th Fleet said.
