Two US soldiers killed north of Baghdad

Two American soldiers were killed in separate attacks north of Baghdad, one the victim of small arms fire and a second in a roadside bombing, the US military reported early Friday. A Task Force Lightning soldier was hit by gunfire in Diyala province, and a soldier in the 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), died in a roadside bombing in Salahuddin province. The victims names were not released because family had not been notified, the military statements said. The two deaths raised the American death toll for the month to at least 84. Last month, 104 US troops were killed in Iraq.
