US army: Soldier dies in Iraq, cause undisclosed

A US soldier was killed south of Baghdad, the military said Friday. The 1st Corps Support Command Soldier died about 11:15 p.m. Thursday near Talil, 275 kilometers (170 miles) southeast of Baghdad because of "non-battle related causes," the military said. The brief statement provided no details, but that term is used to describe anything from accidental gunfire or a traffic accident to the suicide of a soldier.
