US Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns said Tuesday the international community had sent a unified message to Iran over its resumed nuclear program following talks in London.
He said a late night meeting of Germany and the five permanent UN Security Council members, which lasted 4 hours and concluded in the early hours of Tuesday, should leave Tehran in no doubt about world opinion before Thursday's meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Following the talks, Russia and China joined the US, Britain, France and Germany in supporting Iran's referral to the Security Council when the 35-member IAEA votes on the matter later this week.
However, the group agreed that the Security Council should wait until March to take up the Iran case.
