The Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office filed an indictment in the Tel Aviv District Court on Tuesday, charging a man in his forties with committing sodomy and serious injury against his girlfriend’s 18- month-old son.
The district attorney also filed a request that a courtimposed gag order on the case be lifted to clear the way to release the defendant’s identity and case details to the public.
The district attorney also requested that the court remand the defendant, currently known only as N., in custody throughout the legal proceedings against him.
According to the indictment, on February 18, N. invited his partner to lunch with him at a Tel Aviv restaurant. While she got ready and took a shower in N.’s apartment, N. allegedly took her 18-month-old son to a gym in the basement of the apartment block. Once two other residents exercising there had left, he performed an act of sodomy on the infant, while clamping the baby’s mouth shut with his hand so it would not scream, the indictment charges.
As a result, the baby required surgical treatment under full anesthesia and was hospitalized for six days, the indictment says.
“The perverse sexual act attributed to the defendant in the indictment, perpetrated against a baby aged just 18 months, and with great brutality, indicates that the defendant was driven by untamed sexual impulses and by a lack of inhibition in performing them,” the indictment reads.
