Two fires broke out simultaneously in the Sharon region on Monday afternoon.
A large fire broke out in the Ilanot forest between the Kadima and Tzoran neighborhoods, and a brush fire spread in Ra'anana. In both cases, large forces of fire fighters were called to the scene, and residents were evacuated from their apartments due to concerns that the fires would spread.
The fire services believe that weather conditions led to the outbreak and spreading of the fires.
Kadima residents were evacuated due to thick smoke and danger that the fire would spread into the town. Ten teams of firefighters and four aircrafts were called to the scene to contain the fire.
At the same time, Ra'anana residents were evacuated due to fear that the blaze would reach a nearby garden center and would burn pesticides.
The fire services are on high alert due to the dry weather, and were called to a series of other small- scale fires across the country throughout the day.
