Welfare Ministry to allocate NIS 3.2 million for Alzheimer’s center in Ramat Gan

Welfare Minister Meir Cohen announced on Wednesday the allocation of NIS 3.2 million towards the expansion of the Ramat Gan Center for Alzheimer’s.
Cohen toured the facilities with members of his staff along with Professor Michael Davidson, general-director of the Center, attorney Amotz Eliash, director of the executive board, and Bat-Chen Philip, head of the Welfare division of Ramat Gan municipality.
“Alzheimer's is a disease that is growing and expanding, we will help open an additional Center in the periphery and will assist in the expansion of the existing center as part of the Ministry's treatment of the elderly population,” said Cohen.
During his visit, Cohen learned of the activities being carried out by the Center for the benefit of the patients and examined the recently begun construction of the new wing.
The Welfare Ministry and the National Insurance Institute (NII) partnered to construct the Center at its inception and continue to work together to fund the new expansion. The new wing will include an area of some 8,000 square meters and is expected to accommodate around 100 additional beds.
