The Jerusalem-based independent Internet radio station Raash Hour will release its second compilation album at a launch event to be held on Thursday (October 30) at 2 Hataasiah Street in Jerusalem’s Talpiyot district. The lineup of the mini-festival features DJs and presenters who work with the radio station, such as Markey Funk, Yonatan Biri and Gili De Kid, as well as British producer Dead Fader.
The new compilation, called Fifth Quarter, contains 19 numbers composed by Jerusalem- based artists and will be released digitally. There will also be to a limited edition LP version with eight tracks.
The album features works by some of the leading artists and groups on the lively alternative side of the Jerusalem musical tracks, such as MARiiA, Markey Funk and Harel Schreiber’s Group Modular duo, Emmanuel Witzthum, 40 Prophets and Boney FM.
The collection also includes two tracks recorded as part of the Melachlechim (Getting Dirty) improvisational project.
Melachlechim is a band of artists who had not previously worked together, met for the first time on stage and improvised an entire live set together. The recordings, from two sessions, also include vocals by Ryskinder and Maksim Turbo.
Raash Hour, which operates as a collective of underground artists, is also the driving force behind the annual Hachazit (Frontline) underground music event which this year took place at Hamazkakeh in Jerusalem in August.
