During the recent conflict dubbed Operation Swords of Iron, Ashdod police officer Cpl. Amit Levy, a proud resident of Kibbutz Nirim, made a selfless choice.

When he became aware of an infiltration by Hamas terrorists, he armed himself and his friends to defend the kibbutz.

They fought valiantly against dozens of terrorists, thwarted the infiltration, and saved countless lives.

A warm welcome for a heroic police officer

Following the intense events, Levy stayed in the kibbutz for 10 days to tend to the farm animals and perform various essential tasks.

Today, he has finally reunited with his family.

In a heartwarming show of support, all the kibbutz residents gathered in the hotel lobby, enthusiastically cheering and applauding him as he entered.
