Arguably Israel's greatest ever volleyball player, Eliezer Kagan led his Kibbutz side Hapoel Ha'ma'apil to six championships and five State Cups in the 80's.
Kagan, who appeared for the national team 120 times, left to play in the strong Italian league in 1985, but had to turn down a contract extension and returned to Israel a year later after promising his Kibbutz he would stay abroad for no longer than a year.
Kagan, who was also a kindergarten teacher on the Kibbutz, didn't receive any pay for his play at Ha'ma'apil and went on to open a nursery after retiring and leaving the Kibbutz.
Tomorrow: A 52-year-old who just can't stop running
