The Tel Aviv Pioneers defeated the Tel Aviv Sabres 35-0 to advance to the Israel Bowl against the Haifa Underdogs.
With a spot in the championship on the line, the pressure was too much for the Sabres, who went to the half behind 21-0.
Led by MVP linebacker Mark Creizman, the Pioneers' defense completely dominated the Sabres throughout the game. Creizman had an interception, four tackles and as many assists to keep the Sabres at bay the whole day.
A scoreless third quarter was followed by the Pioneers scoring another 14 points in the fourth to seal the win and set up the historic showdown.
The first Israel Bowl is scheduled to kickoff at 12:15 p.m. on June 23 at the Yarkon sports complex in the Baptist Village near Petah Tikva.
Attendance is free and open to the public.
