Games We Play: Blind bowlers head to Scotland

The members of the team have achieved some impressive results in international events abroad.

Israel's top blind bowlers will take part in the Quadrangular International Tournament and Scottish Open Championships next month in Scotland. The teams of Tami Carmeli and Yitzchak Baranes in the totally blind section and Rachel Buchnik, Nava Mutsafi, Nachum Mor and Shlomo Hershkowitz in the partially sighted competition will face sides from Scotland, England and Canada. The members of the team have achieved some impressive results in international events abroad. In the last Quadrennial World Championships in 2005 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Baranes won silver in the men's singles, and with Carmeli, took the silver in the pairs. In the partially blind category, Buchnik won the silver in the ladies' singles, Hershkowitz won the bronze in the men's singles, and both of them took the bronze playing together in the pairs.
