Ossip edges Farkash to win Gaash club medal.

In difficult weather conditions, over 70 golfers took part in the monthly medal at the Gaash golf club in Shfayim on February 28. The winner of the A division - for players with a handicap of between 0 and 12 - was Mike Ossip who finished with a net score of 76, followed by Avi Farkash with a net 78. The B division (handicap 13 - 20) was won by Slave Kovalsky with a net 73 followed by Yerocham shafat on 76. And the C division (handicap 21 - 36) was won by Hadasa Alon with a net 72 followed by celly mandel on 76. The longest drive competition for men was won by Aviram Ganot and the nearst to the pin competition for women was won by Celly Mandel. Shmulik Futeran, Gaash golf club marshall and tournament director, said the strong winds meant players shot higher scores than expected. He said: "It was a high spirited event enjoyed by all competitors." The club is planning to continue its program of events with a country of origin compeition on Purim, March 14.
