Games We Play: Suns sink Rehovot

Amateur softball: Rise Hi improves its record to 3-1 with comfortable victory over Table to Table.

The Suns recorded their second victory of the amateur softball in Israel season with a 21-11 win over Rehovot last week at Kibbutz Gezer. The Suns jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after Adam Fishman belted a massive, three-run home run over the center field fence. Rehovot chipped away at the lead and eventually went ahead 7-6. The Suns came back and scored 10 runs in the last inning to secure the victory. Fishman hit for the cycle and had a total of seven RBIs. Seth Gerson, Andre Isaacson and Marc Tobin all went 3-for-4 and drove in a combined 10 runs. Rise Hi 21, Table to Table 4 Rise Hi improved its record to 3-1 with a comfortable victory over Table to Table on Friday. Rise Hi scored three runs in the first inning and added five more in the second. Rise Hi took a 9-3 lead into the top of the fifth inning, when Amiad Harow blasted a two-run homer. Rise Hi exploded for eight more runs in the top of the seventh. Avinoam Bernstein had three hits, Ethan Harow added three more and scored four runs, Beryl Thomas had a huge game with four hits and three RBIs and Naftali Shwartz had four hits and five RBIs. Amiad Harow scored four runs and his father, Earl, added three hits and four RBIs. Chaim Jacobson returned from the disabled list to make his season debut and had a pair of hits and two RBIs. Ed Harow picked up the win on the mound.
