Amos Aharoni scored a net 69 to win the "A" Division at the Monthly Medal tournament at the Ga'ash Golf Club on Monday. Over 40 players were greeted with a sunny but windy day, but the conditions seemed to suit them. The scoring in all three divisions was at a high level. Aharoni, playing with a seven handicap, finished in first place in the "A" Division, followed by Mati Geri (net 71). Ilan Mendelson won the "B" Division with a net 67 that included two birdies on the back nine. Lawrence Goodman came in second with a net 68. Limor Sidi, who has only been playing golf for just over a year, has already come down to a 23 handicap. Sidi led the "C" Division with a net 64 with six pars on the back nine. Arye Merdler and Avigdor Ophir both had net 65 with Arye taking second place with a better back nine. Danny Hurwitz and Mike Ossip won prizes for nearest-to-the-pin. Hurwitz was 3.02 meters from the 124-meter, par-3 hole No. 4, and Ossip was 9.26 meters from the 160m., par-3 hole No. 9. This month, Ga'ash will host the 2007 Israel Open Amateur Championships and the first qualifying round for the prestigious International Pairs Tournament.
