Triple jumper Yochai Halevi, who was set to be the first Israeli to participate in the world athletics championships in Berlin, never got the chance to compete after not entering the "Call Room" on time, a room where the athletes need to wait just before they leave for the field.
Halevi was warming up in the training field on Sunday when neither he nor his coach noticed the call.
When they realized that all the other jumpers had already left it was too late.
