Oded Katash returns to Gan Ner on Thursday for the first time since guiding Hapoel Gilboa/Galil to the BSL championship last season, desperately needing a victory for his current team, Hapoel Jerusalem.
Jerusalem has lost three of its last four games in all competitions, including two straight in the league after falling 84-73 to Maccabi Tel Aviv on Sunday.
Katash’s men defeated Gilboa at Malha Arena when the teams last met in November, but Lior Lubin’s side has won two straight BSL games to move tied with Jerusalem on a 7-5 record.
Bnei Hasharon will be looking to rebound from its recent poor run of results when it hosts Barak Netanya on Thursday.
Since handing Maccabi Tel Aviv its only league defeat of the season, Dan Shamir’s team has lost four of five games, including a humbling 86-69 defeat at Hapoel Holon on Saturday.
Also Thursday, Maccabi Tel Aviv will be expecting to cruise to an easy win when it hosts Maccabi Rishon Lezion, Maccabi Ashdod visits Holon and Maccabi Haifa goes for its second straight win after losing six consecutive games when it travels south to face Ironi Ashkelon.
