Shahar Pe'er scored a big win with a 7-6 (6), 5-7, 6-4 victory over sixth-seeded Anastasia Myskina of Russia in the second round of the Rogers Cup in Montreal. It was the second time Myskina came up short against Pe'er after the latter had defeated her in the finals at Istanbul several weeks ago. Earlier, Pe'er and Marion Bartoli advanced to the second round of the Rogers Cup doubles tournament in Montreal on Tuesday night defeating Canadians Stephanie Dubois and Aleksandra Wozniak 6-3, 6-1. The Israeli/French duo dominated the entire match and only needed 63 minutes to dispatch the Canadians. Pe‚er and Bartoli served well (73 percent of first serves in) and took advantage of five of their nine break points. Their second round match will be against Ukrainian sisters Alona and Kateyna Bondarenko. Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich were also in action late on Wednesday when they played Mahesh Bhupathi of India and American partner Justin Gimelstob in the second round of the Cincinnati tournament. Ram and Erlich received a first round bye and are ranked sixth in the tournament which features most of the worlds top doubles teams.
