The team has been frantically training over the last six weeks, while doing its best to ensure minimum strain of their ageing muscles. Stuart Lustigman, chairman of the The Maccabi Masters League GB and head of the 19-strong delegation, said: "Sport is a most powerful vehicle in terms of endorsing the Maccabi ethos of the Jewish continuity and the centrality of Israel. We will visit Sderot, Yad Vashem and engage in a number of seminars and although our players might arrive with football on their minds, they will return home with Israel in their hearts."
