Andy Ram won his second match in as many days on Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals of the Joyce Eisenberg futures in Ra'anana.
The Israeli doubles star eliminated Swedish qualifier Henrik Norfelt 6-1, 6-4 with ease, but will face a tough challenge in the next round as fifth seed Frederic Jeanclaude awaits on Thursday.
Ram, ranked 809 coming into the event, found himself in trouble with the score knotted at 4-4 in the second set, but broke Jeanclaude (616) and served for set.
However, just as the Frenchman took a 0-40 lead and seemed certain to break back, Ram reeled off five unanswered points for game, set and match.
Also advancing on Wednesday were second seed Marcelo Melo of Brazil, sixth-seeded Ishay Hadash, France's Clement Morel, Brazil's Diego Cubas and Dekel Valtzer, who defeated Amit Inbar 4-6, 7-6, 7-5.
