Underdogs record big win over Sabres

The undefeated Haifa Underdogs smashed the Tel Aviv Sabres 77-42 in the latest round of the Israel Football League action. The Sabres raced to a 28-14 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Underdogs responded with 49 unanswered points to blow the Sabres out of the water. The turning point was the injury to key Sabre Raviv Faig. He hurt his elbow towards the end of the first quarter and the visitors were hobbled. Haifa star player Shahar Yeshurun, with three touchdowns, an interception and a sack, proved the difference and it was his interception return for a touchdown with 32 seconds left that capped the scoring. Haifa's running game and strong offensive line were simply too good for the undermanned Sabres. Improve your tackle football skills The IFL is organizing a tackle football workshop April 9-12 at the Baptist Village in Petah Tikva. Three high-school football coaches from the US will give lessons and practice on basic offense and defense techniques. Anyone over the age of 16 who wants to play football and is in reasonable shape is invited to participate. On the final day, an open game is scheduled. The best part about the four-day program is the price, less than NIS 100 including insurance. Accommodation and meals are also available.
