The massive turnout despite a whipping, cold wind underscores how the fatal shooting of 37‑year‑old Renee Good by an ICE officer has struck a chord, fueling protests in major cities and some towns.

An ABC News affiliate reported that agents involved in the shooting were US Customs and Border Protection agents and that the FBI was leading the probe.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey confirmed the shooting in a post on X, blaming the Trump administration for heightening tensions around immigration enforcement.

After ICE officers booked rooms using official government email addresses and rates, Hilton canceled their reservations, the Department of Homeland Security said in a post on social media platform X.

ICE and Border Patrol will get $170 billion in additional funds through September 2029 - a huge surge of funding over their existing annual budgets of about $19 billion.

The federal jury delivered a mixed verdict on Hannah Dugan, convicting her of obstructing a federal proceeding and acquitting her of concealing a person from arrest.

"Real-time, on-the-ground visits to immigration detention facilities help prevent abuses and ensure transparency," Democratic lawmakers said.

“ICE has absolutely ZERO record of its officers or agents pulling over Congresswoman Omar’s son,” DHS asserted.

Among other protections, the bill restricts immigration enforcement efforts outside of state courthouses and allows plaintiffs to sue for damages.

Rumeysa Ozturk, in a statement, said she was grateful for the ruling and that she hopes "that no one else experiences the injustices I have suffered."
