Knesset Speaker Rivlin says if Basic Law passes, it will prevent the establishment of a constitutional court made up of politicians, not judges.
A year into his term, Supreme Court President Asher Grunis has surprised both his supporters and detractors with his rulings.
At the ceremony at the president's residence, moderator Daniel Pe’er raised a laugh when, after Grunis had made his declaration of allegiance, he told him to return to his seat.
“When you compare this building to other buildings, the gap is huge,” said Grunis.
